Create an drop down menu for building a kit using assets (more than 1 qty) as well as asset stock & tracking both
I want to rent out kits. The bundle option is not viable for us as we have hundreds of kits. Kits are made of individual components and these have to be tracked individually . I cant place them under assets (as they are more than 1) neither can I olace them under asset stock (wherein items cant be tracked). So my suggestion would be create a drop down menu while creating an asset showing assets(more than 1 qty) grouped together to form a kit . The kit should be then displayed on webstore as also the components that build up the kit with their quantities. Moreover the Kits have to tracked individually and having more than one qty. If any component in a kit is damaged - administrator to use qr codes and update status as component is damaged and this sends an alert to headoffice asking them to order the item .

This is the comment i allready gave at the (sub/mini items within an Asset item) and the (Components) request
i think it is all kind of the same problem and there is a lot more behind that.
Hi, Actually i see a big demand and also some kind of confusion here.
If i am right Bundles are made to make a collection of Items that are often rented out together so you be very quick with creating new orders.
Many users actually use the Bundles to put items together that belong to each other wich is a totaly diffrent storry. For Example i have a sound and light company that has everything in cases. The contant of those always stay the same but i still want to have every item in there individually in my software.
So actually there is missing some extra feature like nested items or what ever that groups assets and assetstock together and give you all the possebilitys that you have with regular assets.
So i think actually many of us ore at least i use the bundle feature the wrong way. So if there would be something like that nested assets you would be able to
-add them to bundles
-verify a bunch of assets with one scan
-have extra lables for those
-do extra pricing
-keep track of every tiny piece but still be able to work efficent....
actually this would be very important for me and i can t do it with the bundles right now because i cant verify them through scanning and to scan everything individually would be thousands of scans for one event.
I hope this will be added in the future.

We did this using the "subgroups" function - basically by making the name of the item the Subgroup which is easy to do if you're importing from excel. If not all items are available the amount of "bundles" available changes. You can also change serial numbers after the order has been created if you do it with subgroups
